THE VISITOR CENTRE AT GRAND-PRÉ NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE OF CANADA
The Société Promotion Grand-Pré collaborated with Parks Canada in the construction of a Visitor Centre at Grand-Pré National Historic Site of Canada. The 1,500 m2 Visitor Centre houses a theatre, an exhibit hall, a gift shop, an art gallery, and an administration area. Situated in an area which was a major centre of Acadian activity from 1682 to 1755, Grand-Pré National Historic Site of Canada commemorates the period of colonization and settlement of the area by Acadians as well as their Deportation in 1755. The Centre opened in 2003.
