Célina (Murray) and Joseph Potter Wedding

Re:  INFORMATION FOR WEDDINGS AT GRAND-PRÉ

Wedding ceremonies at the Grand-Pré National Historic Site are usually held outdoors near the ponds or the sundial. If you are thinking of having a wedding here, we recommend a prior visit to the site in order to choose your location and make a reservation.

The fee for a Wedding at Grand-Pré is $98.10 + 95¢ per guest and may be paid by cash, cheque or credit card, (Visa/Master Card). If you only want wedding pictures to be taken on the site during operating, the cost is $49.00. Please make your cheque payable to “Receiver General for Canada”.

If you need an electrical outlet for your wedding, you will need to bring 350 feet of electric cord to plug in the only power outlet available situated on the green maintenance building behind the church.

In case of inclement weather we have only one alternate facility to offer that can accommodate up to 50 people for this event. If you are planning on a small wedding and want to reserve the “Evangéline et Gabriel” room situated inside our interpretation center, to ensure its availability, the cost is $73.60 for half a day or $147.20 for a full day. This venue is rented on a first come first serve basis.

While on the grounds, we do have a few restrictions we ask you to respect:

1. The ceremony may not be held near any of the main pathways in the park or anywhere that might obstruct the view of the church for regular visitors.

2. Confetti, rice or alcohol are not permitted.

3. We cannot provide any service or accessories such as chairs for rent or decorations such as flowers arches. We do not have a designated storage area to keep your chairs overnight on Fridays and Saturdays. We will accept delivery of chairs near the railroad track where they may be left near the hedge facing the duck pond overnight at your own risks. (You will need to ask a guide to open the gate for the truck)

4. We ask that all accessories used by your party be removed immediately after the ceremony.

Some couples ask to be married in the Church but this is not possible. You may be married on the steps of the Church however this is only possible after hours, which means that your wedding would have to be held after 6:00 pm. Weddings held after hours are free of charge but remember that there is no staff present at that time.

Wishing you all the best in planning this very special event.  Please do not hesitate to call if you have any questions or wish to make a reservation for your wedding.

 Sincerely,

 Administration, Société Promotion Grand-Pré
