Société Promotion Grand-Pré collaborated with
Parks Canada in the construction of
an Interpretive Centre at Grand-Pré National Historic Site. The 1,500
m2 Interpretive Centre houses a
theatre, exhibit hall, gift shop, multipurpose room, and
administration area. Situated in an area which was a major centre of
Acadian activity from 1682 to 1755, Grand-Pré National Historic Site
commemorates the period of colonization and settlement of the area by
Acadians as well as their Deportation in 1755. The new centre opened
in 2003.
